Day 11 The Kingdom is Now

Luke 17:20-21 “Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them, ‘The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, nor will they say, “Look, here it is!” or “There!” for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.’”

We talk about heaven as if it’s only a distant reality, something we’ll experience after we die. We live as though the kingdom of God is somewhere far off, waiting to be revealed at the end of time. But Jesus said something shocking:

“The kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”

The Pharisees expected a political takeover, a visible reign where Rome would be overthrown and Israel would rise to power. They were waiting for a revolution they could see. But Jesus wasn’t establishing a kingdom that could be measured in earthly terms. He wasn’t waiting for some future event. He was bringing the kingdom now.

Jesus’ miracles, teachings, and healings were not just displays of power—they were signs of heaven breaking into this broken world. Every act of healing, every demon cast out, every moment of forgiving a person was a pocket of heaven bursting into the present.

But the kingdom movement isn’t just about individual healings or spiritual experiences. It’s a battle—a divine rebellion against the powers that rule this present age. The kingdom of God is about reclaiming the world from the demonic rulers and authorities that have held it in bondage since the fall. Jesus wasn’t just offering forgiveness—He was declaring war.

And here’s the most radical part: If you belong to Jesus, you are part of that kingdom movement. Through His Spirit, He calls us to do the same.

Too many believers live like they’re in a waiting room—waiting for God to show up, waiting for heaven, waiting for something “big” to happen. But the kingdom isn’t just a future hope. It’s a present reality. It’s breaking into our daily lives, reshaping how we think, love, and live.

The question isn’t, “When will the kingdom come?” The question is, “Are we living like it’s already here?”

Are You Living Like the Kingdom is Here?
• Do you pray as if God’s presence is a future promise or a current reality?
• Are you waiting for external circumstances to change before stepping into your calling?
• What if the kingdom isn’t something you’re supposed to wait for, but something you’re supposed to bring?

What This Means for Us
• The kingdom is not a destination. It’s breaking into the present moment. (Luke 17:21)
• Kingdom power is already available. You have the Spirit of God in you—stop living like you’re powerless. (Romans 8:11)
• Our mission is now. The world doesn’t need more spectators; it needs ambassadors. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

Do Something:
Live like the kingdom is already here.
• Pray differently. Instead of asking God to come near, thank Him for already being here.
• Act differently. Carry the presence of the kingdom into your workplace, your relationships, your decisions. Bring pockets of heaven into your life. Pray to heal, restore, forgive, and love radically everyday!

Stop waiting for the kingdom. Start living it.
